Love skating? Love team sports?

Combine those passions and join a synchronized skating team at Parade Figure Skating Club!

Parade FSC will have 3 synchro teams for 2008-2009.

The 2008 – 2009 Synchronized Skating Season is quickly approaching. The Parade Figure Skating Club Board of Directors has appointed Michael Luedtke as the coach for both the Polarettes and Polar Edge Skating Teams.

Michael has been busy researching music for the coming skating season for both lines. Both lines will be getting a new dress for the coming season. There will be some changes to requirements for both the Polarettes and the Polar Edge teams. Both lines will be required to take an edge class taught by Karen Olson. This edge class will take place 15 minutes just prior to the actual synchro practice and is included in the overall synchro contract for 2008 - 2009. The start time for practices are listed based on the start time of the edge class. Age / level requirements are listed below, please read them over. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact Michael directly at 763-412-2503 or mluedtke@comcast.net.

Michael’s present plan is to have each line (Polar Edge and Polarettes) compete 4 to 5 times during the skating season. He is entertaining the thought of taking the teams to Chicago for the ISI Synchronized Skating Championships April 17 – 19, 20. We may look into chartering a bus for skaters and family members to travel from Minneapolis to Chicago and provide transportation in Chicago during the competition.

If there are any parents interested in volunteering for some specific jobs during the season to better help the teams, please contact Michael. The positions available are

  • Polarette Team Parent Liaison

  • Polar Edge Team Parent Liaison

  • Poinsettia Fundraiser Chairperson

  • Synchro Champs Liaison

Costume Measuring

Early in the season there will be a general meeting in place of the edge class. The date will most likely be on Monday Sept 15th for the Polarettes at 6:30pm and on Tuesday Sept 16th for the Polar Edge at 6:30 pm. Exact time and date will be reconfirmed. The meeting will be a requirement for all skaters and at least one parent is to be present. The meeting will cover music, costumes, competitions, and of course the financial costs of synchro. We will be glad to entertain all questions.

Meanwhile if you have any questions about which team you should be trying out for please write Michael Luedtke at mluedtke@comcast.net or call him at 763-412-2503. If you have questions on the synchro contract, costs, or other general questions, please contact Lynn or John Rodrigues at 651-405-9512 or email web@paradefsc.org.
